Toby is available through the HRNZ HERO programme. He is smoochy guy that loves hacking- we see this as being his forte! He is a real “best friend” type.
- Toby has been with Kerry for 8 weeks and in this time has gone from strength to strength in his retraining and loves ridden life!
- He stands to mount/dismount, basic flatwork established and has started pole work. His canter work is improving as he builds confidence and balance.
- Toby loves hacking out. He has been to the forest a couple of times, hacked out on the road in groups and solo and is happy at the front, middle or back.
- He has had cows running up to him, fast cars going past, random barking dogs appearing without adverse reaction.
- Toby is great to handle in all aspects. Easy to catch, gear up, tie, rug and unrug in the paddock, loves his food and is respectful at feeding time.
- Toby floats and trucks. Is great for the barrier and his bodywork, worming and teeth are up to date.
- Toby’s ideal home would be someone who can continue his retraining and give him mileage. He loves hacking and going on adventures.
- He has a decent stride and is forward moving so could also be suited to CTR/endurance.
- Although Toby is a lovely quiet horse he is still relatively green under saddle so needs a confident rider.
