Ardlussa Equine

Katie rehomed her first Standardbred in 2013 when she started working in the racing industry. Katie’s passion for horses took her to North America where she worked in Steacy Stables- one of Ontario’s bigger racing stables.

Katie worked as a trekking guide in the Canadian Rockies and has a passion for vaulting. Now back in New Zealand Katie enjoys showing, showhunter, showjumping, and trekking.

Jamie is a Canadian showjumper and varsity team dressage rider who is just getting started in New Zealand. Jamie particularly enjoys producing young horses. Alongside Katie, Jamie owns and operates a successful equine training and riding lesson facility in Southland- Ardlussa Equine.

“We live our dream rehoming Standardbreds and Thoroughbreds. Teaching riding lessons, breeding and producing performance horses on our self made 20-acre equestrian facility is all part of the business.”

Ardlussa Equine successfully rehomed over 40 Standardbreds in 2023 and we are excited to welcome them to the HERO team
